Our training philosophy revolves around three main components:
Strength
Strength is a foundational performance characteristic that makes life physically easier. As we age, muscle mass and strength can decrease and our training programs aim to avoid that loss of strength and even improve it.
Functional Mobility
True strength can only be applied successful if the human body is able to move through an adequate range of motion with few or no compensations. By improving functional mobility, we decrease injury risk and maintain proper movement patterns
Balance and Coordination
The product of proper strength training and functional mobility, balance and coordination allow life to be more enjoyable. Whether it is decreasing the risk of falls, developing a new skill, or performing at a higher level, improving balance and coordination allows for more robust and active life.
Training at Strength Lab always begins with a movement assessment and strength assessment. After the assessment, the owner discusses the results with you and describes the process of developing better movement patterns and increasing overall strength. Then, you will set out your goals with the owner. With that information, the owner designs a training program
specific to you and your goals.
Individualized Strength Training is personal training completed in a small group environment. Each client has their own goals and a completely unique training program. The owner is present for all training sessions and is there to watch and improve technique, provide coaching points, handle exercise equipment set-up and break-down, and manage your entire workout.
You just need to show up and complete the workout designed for you.
